Hamilton and Warrnambool Art Galleries have outstanding collections of painting, porcelain, silver and glass, with regular programmes of visiting artists and temporary exhibitions. The Warrnambool Maritime Museum has one of Australia’s finest permanent maritime exhibitions.
Ballet, theatre and opera are regularly programmed at The Hamilton and Warrnambool Performing Arts Centres, and dotted across the region are excellent galleries, antique shops and cinemas.
The region is also renowned for its annual calendar of festivals and events, a varied programme that includes antique fairs, food and music festivals, agricultural shows and sporting events.
